Ari Aster, the director behind horror films "Midsommar" and "Hereditary," is hard at work on his third feature film, "Disappointment Blvd.," which stars Joaquin Phoenix in the lead role.

According to Deadline, the film just got a boost of star power with the casting of LGBTQ and Broadway icons Nathan Lane and Patti LuPone.

It was also announced that Oscar-nominated actress Amy Ryan ("Gone Baby Gone," "The Office") will also star in the film along with Kylie Rogers ("The Whispers").

While details about the film have been kept under wraps, Deadline revealed: "The plot is described as an intimate, decades-spanning portrait of one of the most successful entrepreneurs of all time."

"Midsommar" starred Florence Pugh, Will Poulter, William Jackson Harper, and Jack Reynor, whereas Aster's 2018 blockbuster, "Hereditary," starred Toni Collette, Gabriel Byrne, Ann Dowd, and Alex Wolff.

"Disappointment Blvd." will mark Phoenix's first role since winning the Oscar for Best Actor for his role in "Joker," an origin story in which the actor portrayed the titular Batman villain.
