"Being the Ricardos" filmmaker Aaron Sorkin recently turned more than a few heads when he said casting only LGBTQ+ actors in LGBTQ+ roles was "empty gesture" because "gay and straight aren't actable" in an interview with the Sunday Times Culture Magazine.

As someone who has fought long and hard and recently celebrated casting his film "Bros" with all LGBTQ characters, Billy Eichner pointedly called Sorkin's comments "ignorant" in a Twitter post.

"Completely ignorant of how Hollywood has treated its openly LGBTQ+ actors for a century," Eichner wrote. "Talking about shit he doesn't fully comprehend. Scared that Hollywood isn't (entirely) ruled by straight men anymore. Go write yourself a 'walk and talk' back into the past. Merry Christmas!"

Brrr. A chilly entry in the ongoing discussion about LGBTQ representation on film.
