The LEGO Batman Movie

When "The LEGO Movie" debuted in theaters, audiences never imagined that film's breakout star would be none another one of the cinema's most bankable properties, but here we have it! With "The LEGO Batman Movie" a bonafide hit, largely in part to comedian Wil Arnett's take on the DC Comics icon, the proof is undeniable, however, you stack it.

With the film now on available on Blu-ray, DVD and Digital HD home viewing, audiences can bring this madcap adventure home and experience it for themselves!

Arnett easily stole every scene where the darkly brooding Batman was featured in the otherwise-optimistically colorful previous "blockbuster" (did you get what I did there?). In this installment, Batman returns to his Gotham City and stops the nefarious Joker (voiced by Zach Galifianakis) from launching an attack that would destroy the city. When Batman fails to acknowledge the bond between the pair of arch-nemesis, the Joker is convinced that he must come up with an even more diabolic plot to prove the Caped Crusader is nothing without him.

In the meantime, Batman must learn that he can't go at all this crime fighting alone and win. Joined by his "no-pants" wearing ward Dick Grayson / Robin (voiced by Michael Cera) and Gotham City's new Commissioner Barbara Gordon turned Batgirl (Rosario Dawson), the Batman must pool all of his resources to stop the Joker from turning Gotham City into a haven for some of the most nefarious characters in all of LEGO Land... and re-imagining Wayne Manor as his own playground of destruction!

"The LEGO Batman Movie" is exactly what you'd expect, and yet there's still room for so many more surprises. There are countlessly outrageous inside jokes that play well for adults and may go over most kids heads (but don't bet on it). This movie will be your best friend to help shake off those summer afternoon funks - it is, without compromising itself too much, a cheesy good time, and is completely satisfying. For those of us who grew up playing with LEGOs, it'll feel even more clever.

The Blu-ray is loaded with bonus features, including a "Making Of" look at how the artists brought Batman's LEGO Gotham to life and animated the hundreds of playful characters that inhabit this world. There's a special look at the voice talent in the studio laying down their performances, and additional deleted scenes that didn't make it into this film, but may well appear in a sequel. The Blu-ray also boasts four new and original Animated Shorts and commentary by the filmmakers that reveal more of "The LEGO Batman Movie" secrets!
