Hasty Exits – Kandy Muse's VMA Emergency and Lauren Boebert Booted from 'Beetlejuice'

READ TIME: 3 MIN.

Ever wonder why someone makes an early exit from an event? It happened twice this week from two personalities not unfamiliar with the tabloids.

Why did Kandy Muse leave the VMAs early?

"RuPaul's Drag Race season 13 superstar and All Stars 8 runner-up Kandy Muse made an epic announcement about her legendary exit from Tuesday night's awards ceremony, revealing that she departed the pop culture gathering early for a bowel-related issue," according to Entertainment Weekly.

"'Left hehe vmas early,' Kandy tweeted at 10:28 p.m. ET, about 47 minutes before the broadcast was scheduled to end," EW said. "I gotta poop," Muse tweeted.

But the story isn't the first time a "Drag Race"-alum faced a bathroom crisis. Last year "All Stars 8" queen Heidi N Closet "went public with her moving story about that time she s--- in a parking lot in Europe," added Entertainment Weekly.

"[All Stars 2 queen] Tatianna was my guard to make sure no one was looking at me while I was in [a] parking lot, just fully exposed," Heidi told EW, after first teasing the story – which happened on tour – on an episode of her Hall & Closet podcast. "It was a nice little corner in the parking lot that had a tree. So, I went over by the tree. It's fertilizer, basically."

Curiously, the other tabloid personality to make an early exit from an event is Colorado US rep Lauren Boebert who was escorted out of a performance of the touring musical "Beetlejuice" in Denver on Sunday night, "accused by venue officials of vaping, singing, recording and 'causing a disturbance' during the performance," reported the Denver Post.

"In an incident report shared with The Denver Post on Tuesday afternoon, officials with Denver Arts & Venues wrote that two patrons were asked to leave the city-owned Buell Theatre during the performance of the touring Broadway show," the Post said. "They previously were issued a warning during the intermission regarding behavior that prompted three complaints from other theatergoers, the report says."

While the venue did not identify Boebert and her companion by name, "her campaign office – while disputing the behavior alleged – confirmed that she was escorted from the Buell on Sunday night during the 'Beetlejuice' show."

The incident report states that after receiving the intermission warning, about five minutes into the second act security officials received "another complaint about the patrons being loud and at the time (they) were recording." Taking pictures or recording is not permitted at shows.

They told me they would not leave. I told them that they need to leave the theater and if they do not, they will be trespassing," one of the ushers told the Post. "The patrons said they would not leave. I told them I would (be) going to get Denver Police. They said go get them."

Drew Sexton, the campaign manager for Boebert, told The Post that the second-term congresswoman denied vaping during the show. She did use her cellphone to take a picture of the performance, unaware that photos weren't allowed.

"I can confirm the stunning and salacious rumors: in her personal time, Congresswoman Lauren Boebert is indeed a supporter of the performing arts (gasp!) and, to the dismay of a select few, enthusiastically enjoyed a weekend performance of 'Beetlejuice,'" s statement from Sexton said.

A video posted by Denver Arts & Venues on Tuesday night shows the incident without sound, beginning with security confronting Boebert in the theater, followed by her exit from various security camera viewpoints.

Surveillance footage shows Boebert, wearing a tight, low-cut gold dress and high heels, making a considerable fuss as she and a man are ordered out.

"She can be seen snapping a selfie as she leaves the auditorium and angrily bares her teeth at staff as she is escorted through the lobby," the Daily Mail added.

"They reach the lobby, where a clearly angry Boebert turns and puts her finger up to the security rep and speaks to him. The footage does not have audio of what exactly was said," the Mail said.

"An official report from the Denver Arts & Venues suggested that once Boebert and her unnamed friend had been escorted into the theater's lobby, they made comments along the lines of, 'do you know who I am?' and 'I will be contacting the mayor.'"
