All Jonathan Bennett Wants for Christmas is his 'Mean Girls' Co-Stars (in a New Film)

"Mean Girls" star Jonathan Bennett is taking charge of Christmas once again, this time as the host of a reality show. But what he really wants is a Holiday movie that brings the "Mean Girls" cast back together, Variety reports.
Noting that "Lindsay Lohan and Lacey Chabert and I [are] all starring in different Christmas movies," the "Finding Mr. Christmas" host – who has starred in a number of holiday-themed rom-coms for Hallmark – mused that it's no coincidence if the leads from the classic film "Mean Girls" are now in the business of bringing Yuletide cheer to the small screen.
Bennett explained that "to have Lindsay Lohan and Lacey Chabert and I all starring in different Christmas movies, I think, is perfectly on brand and on target for what we like to do as actors and storytellers, which is bring joy to people, period.
"Now the question is, when do we get to combine it and do a movie for Christmas with Lacey Chabert, me and Lindsay Lohan?" Bennett teased. "That's what I'm looking for, because I think that would make so many people happy. Let's do it."
Variety noted that Bennett's gig as host of "Finding Mr. Christmas" is a meta role, since the object of the show is to identify which actor might best be suited to taking over as Hallmark's go-to for holiday rom-com magic.
Even as Bennett heads up that gig, he's also starring in "Happy Howlidays" and "Season's Greetings from Cherry Lane." Earlier this year he starred in "The Groomsmen" movies, while last year he led "Christmas on Cherry Lane."
Meantime, "Lohan is leading the Netflix romantic comedy 'Our Little Secret' with Ian Harding," Variety detailed, while "Chabert is at the helm of another Netflix release, 'Hot Frosty.'"
Bennett found a "through line" that connects the trio's various current projects to the film they all starred in two decades ago, "and that through line is that all these movies make people happy," the actor declared.
"There's a huge connection between the fan base of 'Mean Girls' and the fan base of Christmas movies," Bennett went on to add. "These are people that want to turn on a movie and feel happier and walk away feeling better. I think that's what these movies do."
