Actor Elliot Page is set to be a producer on a documentary about "Drag Race" icon Peppermint.
"The 38-year-old trans actor has joined the team behind Oriel Pe'er's 'A Deeper Love: The Story of Miss Peppermint' alongside his production company Pageboy Productions," Pink News reported.
Saying he is "honored" to be part of the production, Page called Peppermint's story "powerful, urgent, and deeply human," Pink News relayed.
"Her artistry, courage, and advocacy have changed the landscape for trans performers and inspired so many of us," Page declared.
His own journey has proven groundbreaking: Page famously transitioned while starring on the Netflix series "The Umbrella Academy" – and his character transitioned, too, in a bit of history-making television. What's more, the actor opened up about his life and career in a powerful memoir titled "Page Boy."
Page worked behind the camera as well as in front of it when he starred in, co-wrote, and produced Dominic Savage's 2023 drama "Close to You."
Of "A Deeper Love: The Story of Miss Peppermint," Pink News wrote that "The 80-minute documentary, which has reportedly been in the works for several years, will feature never-before-seen footage of the life of trans drag star Peppermint."
The article added that the doc will "delve into the performer's early career and her fight to scrape together a living through late-night performances and sex work to fund her transition."
Page is in good company, the outlet detailed. A "Drag Race" diva is also throwing their weight behind the film – none other than "The Traitors" and "We're Here" star Bob the Drag Queen.
