'Jeopardy' Contestant Expresses His Bi-Pride by Wearing Pin
READ TIME: 1 MIN.
Tuesday's "Jeopardy" episode featured a contestant happily outing himself. "Contestant Cody Lawrence wore a bisexual pride flag pin on the lapel of his jacket in hopes of bringing more visibility to the underrepresented group," writes Yahoo! Entertainment.
Lawrence live-tweeted during the broadcast to tell his story.
"I've always been bisexual and first became aware of it when I was 10. It wasn't until age 26 that I started expressing my truth openly," he writes in his series of Tweets. He then wrote how #BiErasure made coming out "more difficult for me."
"According to @GLAAD, #BiErasure is a pervasive problem in which the existence or legitimacy of bisexuality (either in general or in regard to an individual) is questioned or denied outright," he tweets.
Then adds, "@BlairImani explains that #BiVisibility is the visibility, acknowledgment, and acceptance of bisexual people, bisexuality, bi history, bi culture, and the bi community."
"Lawrence played well, but unfortunately did not provide the correct response in Final Jeopardy!. He finished in third place and took home $1,000," writes Yahoo! Entertainment.
